Newcastle
Eagles came out on top on their longest road trip of the season on Saturday,
dampening Brighton Bears recent run with a 73-91 away success.
The game turned the
Eagles away in the second quarter, as Tony Garbelotto's team out-scored
Mark Dunning's Bears 18-7 and led 29-48 at half-time.
A 22-5 start to the
third quarter, increased Eagles advantage out to 36 points at 70-34. However,
the
Bears fought back
and runs of 7-0 and 17-2 reduced the arrears, although not enough to avoid
a comprehensive defeat.
Kevin Wallace scored
18 points for the hometown Bears, but it was Eagles' Brian Ehlers who led
the scoring with 23 points.
