Jets improved their BBL record to 6-0 on Saturday night, proving in irresistible
form as they pulled off a 74-101 rout of Brighton Bears on the south coast.
It was a match in
which the visitors dominated from start to finish, despite a spate of foul
trouble which took three of the starters out of the game before the finish.
By half-time, Robbie
Peers' men had built a 36 point advantage as Brighton's poor shooting removed
them from contention. Their cause was not helped when Dave Wahl committed
his fifth infraction and although Pero Cameron in the third quarter, and
James Hamilton and Loren Meyer in the fourth, also fouled out, the hosts
never looked like catching up.
"We have five guys
who can be top scorer on any given night," said Tarik Wallace hit a game-best
27 points.
And while Brighton
have yet to win at home, Jets continue apace despite a lack of depth.
"We'll try to keep
it going as long as we can," stated Peers. "If we'd more money, I'd go
and get two more players. But we don't."
