Bullets Birmingham put further distance between themselves and Brighton
Bears at the foot of the Southern Conference table, taking a 78-88 overtime
win on the south coast on Wednesday.
However, the hometown Bears stayed close with the Bullets for most of the
game - the two sides were level at 37 at the halfway point and things remained
just as tight in the second half.
Down the fourth period
stretch, it took a Wilbur Johnson bucket with 4.9 seconds on the clock
to force overtime at 76-76 but once in the extra period, Yorick Williams
hit two successive three pointers to edge the Bullets ahead.
Williams' team-mate,
Brant Bailey top scored for the Bullets with 23 points, but it was Brighton's
Johnson who led all scorers with 26.
