Back from
their (relative) success in the NEBL Challenge Cup, Birmingham faced a
fifth game in seven days on Wednesday night and the toll shoudl have been
taken on Lance Randall's players.
But the Midlands
outfit held off Thames Valley 92-83 to widen the gap between the sides
in the Southern Conference play-off chase.
The Tigers started
the game the better and led 25-18 at the end of the first quarter but
Birmingham blasted
out in the second - outscoring the Tigers 19-3 in the first seven minutes
to
lead 37-28. Yorick
Williams led all scorers with 26 points and insured the Bullets were never
troubled after the
second quarter.
Tony Christie hit
23 for the Bracknell outfit.
