Uniball Trophy : Tigers knock spots off Leopards
Thames Valley Tigers became the first side to book their passage into the semi-finals of the uni-ball Trophy, progressing by virtue of a 91-84 victory at adidas London Leopards expense.
Playing at the NEC, the two sides were very evenly matched as had been predicted and entering the last period, the match was tied at 69-69 apiece. But although the Londoners were up 77-80, Tigers ran up 11 points without reply to get the noses in front and they held on to inflict Leopards' club-record seventh consecutive defeat.
Tony Christie led Thames Valley's scoring on 18, trailing Leopards' Kenya Capers who had 22.
