BBL Meldrum comes up trumps to lead Tigers
Canadian swingman Greg Meldrum was the star of Thames Valley's show, leading all scorers with 25 points as his side secured a crucial 83-75 win over London Leopards in their clash in Bracknell which elevates the Tigers back to the .500 mark.
Eight of Meldrum's points came down the stretch, as Thames Valley stretched away from level at 70-70 to secure their win - a period of play that saw the Tigers slot eight of the game's last nine points.
Leopards' cause wasn't helped by an ankle injury to guard Rashod Johnson - he limped out in the last minute of the first half and took no further part in the game - but in his absence, the Essex boys enjoyed their best spell of the game after a first two quarters in which the hosts had held the upper hand.
Paul James' team, playing in their final game before Saturday's uni-ball Trophy semi-final with London Towers, led by nine points after the opening period and maintained that margin to go into the break 47-38 in front.
The visitors' rally took them back to even the game in the final quarter, but despite 21 points from Jason Kimbrough, they could not avoid a league-worst 14th loss.
