Finch rings changes to spur Sharks revival

After watching his team capitulate to Manchester Giants the previous evening, it was inevitable that Sheffield Sharks coach Chris Finch would do something to revive his shell-shocked troops.

And with Terrell Myers sitting out Sunday's home tie with fellow Trophy exitees Thames Valley due to a neck injury, Finch omitted Wil Johnson and Todd Cauthorn from his starting five, a tactic which ultimately paid dividends as Sharks closed with a 12-2 tear to take a 78-64 victory.

The hosts had started brightly, before the visiting Tigers rallied in the second and third quarters, producing a 2-15 run in the third period, which drew the Tigers back into the game at 43-43 with 4.34 of the quarter remaining.

Tigers' Casey Arena led all scorers with 18 points, but it was still was a tough weekend for Thames Valley, who also exited the uni-ball trophy at the semi-final stage on Saturday night.

Cauthorn came off the bench to hit a team-high 17 points.
