BBL Sharks tee up top place with Newcastle defeat
Westfield Sharks Sheffield have set things up nicely ahead of their potential Northern Conference leveller with Manchester Giants on Sunday.
The reigning league champions moved equal on points with the Mancunians after a 90-75 win at home to the Newcastle Eagles, Terrell Myers the star man with a game-high 24 points for the Sharks.
The hosts were ahead 25-17 in front after the opening quarter in a game which they led from start to finish and they kept Craig Lynch's side at a comfortable distance throughout as Todd Cauthorn added 20.
Eagles' top marksman was Ralph Blalock who scored 17 points.
