BBL Myers inspires Sharks cull of Eagles
Terrell Myers re-discovered the form which has been absent of late to score a game leading 21 points as Westfield Sharks Sheffield kept up the pressure on Manchester Giants at the top of the Northern Conference with 78-66 defeat of Newcastle Eagles.
Eagles - led by Charles Smith who netted 19 points - had the better of the early exchanges to take a 14-24 lead at Sheffield Arena at the end of the first quarter.
But Sharks fought back to lead 37-35 at the interval, and pulled clear in the
second half, including an 11-0 third-quarter run which forged them into a 50-44 lead from which they did not fall.Sharks' England assistant coach Peter Scantlebury landed 10 rebounds and 18 points to complete a 'double-double.'
