BBL Sharks sneak past weary Towers
Westfield Sharks Sheffield grabbed their 19th successive win with an 80-78 victory over Haribo London Towers in the Dairylea Dunkers Championship.
It was a close game, but when Towers bagged ten unanswered points either side of the final break, including five from Danny Lewis, the tide seemed to be turning London's way.
The hosts had led 42-39 at half-time, a cushion they had extended to four points ten minutes later.
However an 8-2 run from Sharks late on, including the final five points of the game, gave Sheffield an 80-78 lead and with no score for the final 2:26, it was enough for victory, condemning Towers to their first domestic loss in ten starts.
Terrell Myers netted 24 points for Sheffield, while Steve Bucknall bagged 26 and Lewis 21 for Towers.
