Ten titles in a row - who'd have believed that was possible when Sheffield Hatters ended Northampton's run of four successive NBL Women's crowns in 1991 ?
Well a decade later and the Yorkshire side have confounded the odds and delivered yet another league championship for coach Betty Codona, putting the race beyond mathematical doubt with a 77-40 victory over Ipswich Bobcats on Saturday night.
That this Hatters team has already earnt its place as one of the finest the British game has seen is already beyond doubt but their consistency par excellence has been underlined by a squad who continue to succeed despite the inevitable re-generation process which their ageing stars are undergoing.
Now the only challenge remains to keep that one league defeat as the sole blemish and aim for yet another play-off championship in May. Who would bet against that ?
