BBL Myers blasts Rocks open
Sheffield Sharks defeated Edinburgh Rocks 74-64 on Wednesday night, leaving the Scots still in search of a first-ever victory over their Northern Conference rivals.
The hosts led for most the match, ahead 13-11 at the end of opening period. Sharks pull clear to enter the half-time break 37-31 in front and coasted to the finish on the back of a 28 points haul from Terrell Myers.
Myers proved he is back to his best bagging 8 points in a crucial 11-4 tear which put the Sharks in control at 61-53 at the end of three quarters. The Rocks rallied in the closing stages rattling off 6 unanswered points to trail just 68-64 with 2 minutes remaining but did not trouble the scorers again as the Yorkshiremen sealed the precious championship points from the line.
Exactly half of the Rocks scoring came from Ted Berry who had 20 and John McCord who added 17.
