Towers fall in Istanbul
Haribo London Towers fell to their fourth defeat in as many games in this year's Saporta Cup, losing 100-76 to unbeaten Group leaders Darussafaka in Istanbul.
The Towers were in contention for most of the game, facing up to their hosts admirably in the first half which ended 45-43 in the Turks favour.
The Londoners even trailed just 68-64 with 8 minutes to play but finally succumbed to Darussafaka's pressure as Michael Ansley scored the next 9 points all from three point land to leave the Towers 77-64 adrift and closed off their hopes of an opening win in the competition.
Bryan Balser led the Towers scoring with 18 points while Ansley top scored with 33.
In the same group, Belgian side Aalst also remain joint bottom with no wins after losing 92-68 to Adecco Milan in Italy. Aalst visit Crystal Palace to face the Towers next Tuesday.
