Hancock has happy Tyne return
Milton Keynes Lions coach Tom Hancock returned to Tyneside for the first time since leaving his coaching job with Newcastle Eagles over two years ago.
And his new team made it the perfect homecoming as the Lions booked their spot in the quarter finals of the National Cup with a 99-109 victory in overtime over their hosts.
The score had been close at half-time, 44-46 to Milton Keynes and by the end of regulation time it was even closer as the Eagles clawed it back to tie 92-92 and force overtime.
Lions veteran Tony Windless hit a massive season high 40 points while Eagles Ralph Blalock had a team best 23.
