Leopards haunted by old boy Burks

Eric Burks scored a game-high 26 points to help Milton Keynes Lions reach the last four of the Sainsbury's Classic Cola National Cup at the expense of his former club adidas London Leopards, winning 91-75 in the second of Sunday’s two quarter-finals at The Thunderdome in Derby.

The Lions trailed 37-36 after a desperately close first half in which the biggest lead was just five points, held twice by the Leopards at 28-23 and 34-29. But each time, the Lions responded with 4-0 runs. Lions then scored the first eight points of the second half to go 44-37 in front within two minutes, including a three pointer and three point play from Modie Cox.

Leopards levelled at 47-47 with 14:24 to go after a 10-3 run but Lions responded immediately with a 10-0 run to go 57-47 ahead with 12:44 to go - a lead they never surrendered despite 23 points from Kenya Capers.
