Rocks pay back Lions with road win

Edinburgh Rocks defeated Milton Keynes 72-84 in the Dairylea Dunkers Championship last night, a first-ever win for the Scots over the Lions which strengthens their hold on fourth place in the Northern Conference.

The Lions, who won easily at Meadowbank two weeks but who were playing minus their coach Tom Hancock, started brightest and led by two points at the close of a cautious first half but they found their guests irresistible in the next period.

Edinburgh ran up a 28-10 spurt in a blistering ten minute spell - including a 2-2 spurt - which left them 46-62 in front and they were able to sit comfortably on that margin, with Ted Berry leading the victors' scoring efforts on 21 points.

However it was Lions' Broderick Bobb who led all scorers with 28.
