BBL Towers fell Giants 15 game winning run
Southern Conference pace setters London Towers finally snapped the 15 game winning streak of Northern leaders Manchester Giants with a 76-89 success at MEN Arena.
The Towers broke open a tense dress rehearsal for the uni-ball Trophy final in a fortnight's time with a 5-17 burst in the second quarter, including 4 three pointers from Danny Lewis, to give them a 26-37 lead. The hosts however fought back and when Phil Handy landed a three pointer with 3.30 remaining his side trailed just 76-78.
However that was to be the last time the Giants troubled the scorers as the Towers rattled off the final 11 points of the game including 5 from Steve Bucknall who would finish with 23.
Lewis top scored with 34 points while Tony Dorsey and Phil Handy had 21 apiece for the Giants.
