Giants a class apart from Bears

Manchester Giants enjoyed their second resounding win of the weekend with a 97-60 victory over Driver Brighton Bears in the Dairylea Dunkers Championship.

Although the visiting Bears started well, the Giants broke the game open with 16 unanswered points at the start of the second half, which put them 50-35 up.

When they went on to outscore the visitors 33-13 in the final period, the demolition was certain.

Tony Dorsey led all scorers with 26 points and Phil Handy repeated his
uni-ball trophy semi-final success with a further 23 points for the Giants.

Jon Gaines was the Bears' top marksman with 18 points.
