BBL Tigers clinch second spot at sub-par Towers
Thames Valley Tigers clinched second place in the Southern Conference - and a play-off tie with Edinburgh Rocks - after defeating London Towers 74-85 at Crystal Palace.
The capital outfit, who were without injured guard Danny Lewis, had what coach Ron Abegglen described as a "just awful performance" against a Tigers side who led virtually from start to finish.
Tigers strength proved to be their outside shooting, as they made nine three pointers. Martin Gottfried was the star man with a game-high 23 points for the visiting Tigers who built eaily on their 35-45 lead at half-time.
England veteran Steve Bucknall added 20 points for the Towers.
