BBL Towers clinch series with rivals Bullets
Haribo London Towers secured what could be a crucial head to head series with their principal Southern Conference rivals Pertemps Bullets Birmingham, their third win out of four coming via a 74-67 result at Crystal Palace.
Bullets, without both Shawn Jamison and Lee Walker, did well to stay in contention throughout but it was the Towers who led almost exclusively barr a Nigel Lloyd basket midway through the third period which gave the visitors their only advantage by a single point before.the hosts pulled 53-47 clear entering the final quarter.
Towers' Steve Bucknall and Bullets' Justin Phoenix both bagged three three-pointers on their way to a shared game high of 21 points while Joel Burns added just nine on his Birmingham debut.
