BBL Fit-again Johnson leads Leopards to derby win
The capital derby in the BBL may have lost some of its lustre after the Eastern side moved out to Brentwood. But there will be no taking the latest batch of bragging rights away from adidas London Leopards after they surprisingly overcame London Towers 95-79 in the Championship.
It was a game of massive swings, with the Towers seemingly taking control in the second quarter, scoring 27 points to cancel out a first quarter Leopards' lead. However, with a score at half-time of 37-45 to the visitors, Leopards outscored their longtime rivals 35-14 in the third quarter to lead by 12 points
going into the final period and they never looked back.Leopards' Rashod Johnson - back after injury - and Towers' Danny Lewis each netted 24 points, while England international Kojo Mensah-Bonsu scored 16 on his Leopards' debut.
