Uniball Trophy : Tigers escape Riders clutches
Thames Valley Tigers came within an inch of suffering the unwelcome distinction of becoming Renault Leicester Riders' first BBL victim of the season at Granby Halls with coach Paul James mightily relieved to come away with a 81-82 victory after overtime.
The Riders led 56-51 at the close of the third quarter but Tigers rallied to even the scoreline at 71-71 at the end of regulation via a late three pointer from back up guard Mark Jackson.
And it was the former Solent star who sealed the win for the visitors with a further trey late in overtime.
Tigers Tony Christie and Riders Purnell Perry shared the top marksman tag with 22 points apiece.
