BBL Eagles trade places with lowly Leicester
All-Star Purnell Perry notched 36 points for his Leicester Riders but his solo show was no match for a balanced effort from Newcastle Eagles, who won the basement battle 94-100 at Granby Halls.
After a fairly even first three quarters, Eagles started the final stanza with a 2-10 burst to break open a tense game and lead 66-79 from which the Riders
could not recover as the visitors clinched the series 3-1 and leapfrogged their hosts at the foot of the Northern table.Charles Smith had 19 for the Eagles and Chris Webber added 18 while karl Brown notched 21 for Leicester.
