What had until then been a dull affair with Tolka well in control finally
came to life in the final quarter. Killester being 7 points behind put on a
great effort and with 6:35 to go had drawn level. Lennie McMillan kept Tolka
in the game at this stage but with time running out Killester had a 5 point
advantage. Again McMillan from the free throw line brought Tolka back and
the teams were level with 50 seconds remaining. A steal and basket by Joey
Hastrip clinched victory for Tolka.Waterford Crystal 67(29) 64(30) St Vincents
Roscoe Patterson 20 Karl Donnelly 25
Reggy Scott 19 Brian Tonkovich 22
David Cunningham 14 Ferdinand Williams 8Waterford Crystal led early 17-12 at the end of the first quarter. St.
Vincents battled back to gain the advantage at the half. The 3rd quarter saw
the lead change hands several times before St. Vincents opened what seemed a match winning lead. The score was 60-53 with leess than 5 minutes remaining.Waterford's two Americans who had contributed just 4 points apiece in the
first half took over the game and saw the home side lead 67-61 before Karl
Donnelly sank his 6th three pointer of the game on the buzzerDungannon 77(37) 82(46) Team Kerry Spring Water
Trevor Smullen 26 Robbie Turner 37
Brad Wedel 23 John Teahan 20
Chris Pagan 12 Shane Horgan 9There was little between the teams in the first quarter. At the end of the
first quarter Killarney led 24-23. Turner and Teahan rebounded well in the second quarter and Killarney edged ahead 46-37 at the half way mark.Dungannon lost their way completely in the third quarter. Killarney had no
fewer than 6 turn overs in a three minute period and with Smith, Teahan and
Turner punishing every mistake Dungannon fell behind by 16 points. The score
being 55-34 6 minutes into the quarter. Trevor Smullen, Brad Wedel and Matt
Collins led the Dungannon fight back in the last quarter and dropped in
basket after basket as Killarney wavered. With 20 seconds left and Dungannon
down by 3 points, Wedel went to the Free throw line twice in quick
succession but only scored two out of a possible four. Killarney dropped in
two late baskets from Turner and Horgan to come out five point winners.Sligo Dairies 64(37) 61(20) Esat Telecom Demons
Chris Doyal 37 Joseph McKenney 20
Andy Wilmott 14 John Esbeck 20
Ian McMorrow 10 Shane McCarthy 11Sligo played with conviction and stormed ahead in the first half. Typically
they almost blew it in the third quarter as Demons leveled the scores. Sligo
held on in the final period for a deserved win. Chris Doyal was in flying
form as can be seen from the score sheet.Burger King Limerick 84(48) 94(42) Star of the Sea
Rock Winston 22 John Leahy 33
Kareem Lewis 19 Gareth McGuire 19
Mick Norris 17 Scott Summersville 18A good game up until the last quarter. Both teams playing well. Limerick
were on team fouls then in the final quarter and Star free throw were on the
mark. This turned out to be the deciding factor between the two teams.
Neptune 97(48) 91(31)Hibernian UCD Marian
Rasuel McKune 31 Duane Jones 18
Stephen McCarthy 20 Neville Charles 16
Ricardo Leonard 18
Players Fouled out:
Ricardo LeonardAfter Friday nights hiccup, Neptune got back to winning ways in Neptune
stadium today. Their 6 point victory was a result of a competent team
performance. Rasuel McKune led Neptunes charge with an amazing 31 points, 18 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Although Neptune led by 20 points at one stage Marian staged a late comeback to a respectable level on the scoreboard.
The score however does not reflect the way in which Neptune dominated the game. From start to finish they played with confidence and pride. A late flourish
of 5 three pointers coupled with a technical on Ricardo (his fifth foul)
brought Marian within 3 points, but solid free throws from Stephen McCarthy
and Rasuel McKune kept Neptune ahead.
Killester 85(48) 74(43) Waterford Crystal
Dave Weaver 30 Roscoe Patterson 36
Paddy Kelly 22 Reggie Scott 18
David Cunningham 13
Players fouled out:
David Cunningham (1:26 to go)Killester having lost their last 5 matches played a different team to last
night giving Mike Trimmer a rest. Dave Weaver and Paddy Kelly both gave
great performances. Killester led all the way until the last 5 minutes when
Waterford staged a comeback and went into the lead for the first time.
However Killester pulled them back and pulled well away from Waterford. A
great win for Killester who desperately needed a morale booster.ESB Women's SuperLeague

UL played excellent defense and at the end of the first quarter were leading Killester 11 - 9pts. In the second peiod, UL picked up the intensity on defense and held Killester to getting just 6 pts, and with Ursula Kyne and Eimear Kyne shooting the ball well for UL, giving their team 15-32 at half time.
In the second half and again UL kept the intensity up with Noreen Walsmey doing an excellent job shooting and on the point , keeping UL in front by twenty points, a position which was sufficient to secure the victory.
