Panathanaikos 81-71 Efes Pilsen Istanbul

In a similar pattern to the earlier last four tie, the 1996 champions nver trailed once, breaking a 12-12 tie after five minutes played with a 14-4 spurt  to eventiually go in up 41-33 at half-time.

Their cushion increased to as much as 18 points mid-way through the latter stanza and the Turks - the first from their country to reach this stage - found no response as forward Dejan Bodiroga hit a blistering game-high 22 points.
