BBL Derby's big guns not enough to bite Sharks
Westfield Sharks Sheffield broke their recent run of only one win in four games with a 87-89 victory away at Derby Storm, a result which dropped the hosts firmly into the chasing pack in the Northern Conference.
Veteran Peter Scantlebury was the Sharks top marksman with 20 points in
a game which the Sharks controlled for large periods but eventually only sealed when Derby's Darrian Evans missed a three pointer in the final second. However, Derby had earlier come from 62-75 down at the end of the third quarter and produced a spirited fightback. Kip Stone was in particularly good form, netting 33 points in the game, and leading the Storm's offence but even with Evans' 28 point addition, it was not enough.
Terrell Myers gave some proof that he is escaping from his injury-induced rut to score 17 for Sheffield who still trail Manchester by four points in the standings.
