Storm too good for short-handed Bullets

With Shawn Jamison and Lee Walker both out of the Pertemps Bullets Birmingham side, Derby Storm took advantage to win 74-69 at the Thunderdome on Sunday.

The game remained close in the first half, with the hometown Storm only
pulling out a significant margin in the second half. Six unanswered points from Derby saw them lead 45-40 in the third quarter - a lead they maintained until Bullets hit back strongly in the final period.

After trailing 66-57 with just three minutes remaining, Mike Finger's men brought it back to within one point, first at 68-67 (1.00 remaining) and then later at 70-69 (0.24 remaining).  But Derby hit the last four points of the game from the foul line to claim the win.

Derby's Darrian Evans and Bullets' ex-Storm star Joel Burns led all scorers with 19 points apiece.
