Jets improve play-off hopes with third straight win

Chester Jets enjoyed back to back victories over the weekend following up Saturday's victory over the Westfield Sharks with a 80-75 overtime victory over the Milton Keynes Lions.

The hosts had opened up a ten point lead after the opening quarter which was extended to 48-33 by half-time. However Tom Hancock's team rallied strongly, trimming Jets' lead back to just three entering the final period before Lions' Eric Burks forced the extra period with a basket with 23 seconds remaining, levelling the contest at 70-70.

Jets restricted the Lions to just one field goal in the opening 4 minutes of the extra period while reeling off eight at the other end to lead 78-72 with 0:18 remaining.

Kiwi captain Pero Cameron and Tony Windless top scored with 22 points each.
