BBL Towers extend Jets barren run to six
London Towers extended their lead at the top of the Dairylea Dunkers Championship Southern Conference to eight points following a 70-79 victory away to the Chester Jets. However, Towers had to come from behind to win, hitting their last eight points of the game from the free throw line to secure victory.
Towers had led in the opening minutes, until a 15-2 run put the Jets ahead. Throughout the second quarter, Chester remained in front and the score
stayed close in the third period as well. However, with the Jets up by just two points, Towers opened up the final quarter with a 2-10 run to lead 58-64. Jets responded with an 8-2 run, but it was the foul shots down the stretch, which made all the difference.Terrence Lewis hit a game-high 23 points for the Jets, who dropped their sixth loss ina row, while HL Coleman bagged 19 for the visitors.
