Evans opens Storm to first points
One team had to break their Dairylea Dunkers Championship duck at the Northgate Arena. And it was Derby Storm who secured their first win of the Millennium season with an 70-83 victory away to Chester Jets.
Darrian Evans was the key man, netting a game-high 31 points, including 15 in the final quarter alone.
His scoring helped the Storm to a 6-18 run in the final period, which got the visitors back into the game after Jets had held a 47-43 lead at half time.
Greg Francis hit 17 for the winless Jets while Pero Cameron - fresh off the plane from helping New Zealand secure an Olympic place - hit 16.
