Bullets extend Southern advantage






Pertemps Bullets Birmingham maintained pole position in the Dairylea Dunkers Championship  with an 68-81 win at Chester Jets to pmove six points clear of the chasing pack in the Southern Conference. 

A 12-4 Bullets' run, including seven points from Justin Phoenix, had put Birmingham 37-23 ahead after four minutes of the second quarter but Jets started to close the gap after opening the third period with a 6-0 run. 

A three-pointer from Pero Cameron and basket from Kyle Ivey-Jones closed the deficit to 50-52 just before the end of the third - but that was as close as the Jets would get. After 1:40 of the fourth, the Bullets, leading 59-55, hit an 8-2 run to go 67-57 ahead with 5:00 remaining, and Chester then saw Cameron foul out with 3:00 left to end their chances. 

Ivey-Jones led all scorers on 27 with Yorick Williams leading the Bullets with 18.
