London on roll after Bears blast
London Towers collected their fifth win of the Dairylea Dunkers Championship season after a late run saw them just past the hometown Brighton Bears 79-83, a victory which leaves the capital side well placed to strike at the Southern Conference leadership.
Brighton had led 75-69 with three minutes to go, before Towers veteran guard Danny Lewis netted two three pointers, one two pointer and two free throws in a 12-2 run which effectively saw the Towers home.
Lewis - who finished on 20 - and England international Steve Bucknall dominated the final period for the visitors, hitting all but four of Towers 28 points in the last ten minutes for a personal 24.
Lormont Sharp hit 22 for the Bears, two more than team-mate Charles Claxton.
