BBL Stone leads Storm to south coast clincher
Kip Stone scored a game-high 24 points for the Derby Storm in a 73-75 win at Driver Brighton Bears that keeps the visitors on the tails of Northern Conference leaders Westfield Sharks Sheffield.
Derby built reasonable leads on several occassions, up 14-20 after the first quarter, but were repeatedly pegged back by the Bears, who closed within two points at 72-74 before having the final shot of the game.
But Daniel Hildrith could only land one of two free throws, and Stone did likewise at the other end to edge Storm home for their first win in four games.
Jan Trojanowski hit 19 for Brighton who have now dropped three straight games.
