Uniball Trophy : Bears blow past brave Jets
Brighton Bears pulled off their second win in uni-ball trophy qualifying, outlasting Chester Jets at The Triangle by a 83-77 scoreline.
Three Bears players - Jan Trojanowski, Richard Scantlebury and Lormont Sharp - bagged 16 points apiece as Bears turned the screw in the second half.
Jets trailed by just 44-42 at half-time, but a 10-0 run, with Sharp firing eight, put the visitors on the back foot.
Chester closed to 73-69 down with 2:30 to go in the final quarter, but an 8-2 Bears run finished them off.
Greg Francis (23) and Pero Cameon (22) led the way for Jets who drop to third place in the group table.
