BBL Phoenix rises Bullets above Sharks
Pertemps Bullets Birmingham won a thrilling game 81-71 against Westfield Sharks Sheffield to clinch a place in the semi-finals and extend the play-off hoodoo which afflicts the Yorkshire outfit .
The tight game was basket for basket in the opening quarter, which finished with Sharks 20-19 ahead. The second period was equally close but the Bullets edged into a 47-44 lead in the third after eight unanswered points.
The Sharks looked to have taken pole position with an 11-2 tear in the fourth. But Bullets hit back with a 15-2 reply to 72-68 ahead - and then scored the last seven points of the game to book a match up with London Towers next Saturday.
Bullets' Justin Phoenix scored a game-high 26 points while Sharks Terrell Myers - possibly in his last game at the club if rumours of a move to Australia bear out - hit 18 in reply.
