BBL Bullets slump continues as Lions excel
Milton Keynes Lions enjoyed the best possible booster ahead of their Cup semi-final with Sheffield by rocking Southern Conference leaders Pertemps Bullets Birmingham with a 86-94 win at Aston Villa.
Lions win leapfrogs them above Driver Brighton Bears and adidas London Leopards and leaves Mike Finger's team in a mid-season slump with five losses in six games..
Bullets took an early six point lead but once Lions had replied with six first-quarter three-pointers, including four from Eric Burks, the visitors never looked back.
Bullets trailed by at least four points throughout, only briefly closing the Lions' lead to 75-77, but the visitors stretched away again, Burks finishing with a game-high 30 points.
Nigel Lloyd on 29 and Justin Phoenix with 20 led the Bullets scoring.
