Brummies prolong Riders wait for win
Pertemps Bullets Birmingham extended their lead at the head of the Southern Conference of Dairylea Dunkers Championships with a 67-66 victory over the Renault Leicester Riders at the NEC.
And the win extends Riders losing start to the season to five games under new coach Tim Darling, fixing his side to the basement of the North along with Chester and Derby - the BBL's only other winless sides.
Bullets led for most of the game, up 33-28 at half time, and Yorick Williams put the hosts ahead 67-65 with 50 seconds remaining.
Karl Brown scored 1 out of 2 free throws to cut the deficit to a single point but their late turnover ended their hopes of taking the points.
Former Rider Justin Phoenix led all scorers with 19 points while Troy Coleman had 18 for the losing side.
