BBL Lloyd the key as Bullets down Bears
Pertemps Bullets Birmingham rollercoaster December continued as they defeated the Driver Brighton Bears 102-97 on Saturday night.
The duo were tied at 30-30 after one quarter but the hosts brushed clear to lead 58-46 at half-time. Bullets, led by 27 points from Nigel Lloyd, broke the back of some dogged Bears resistence with a 9-2 in the third quarter to move 78-71 in front, a lead which they were never to relinquish.
Bears - under new coaching appointee Mark Dunning - remain bottom of the Southern heap. Their main scoring threat came from the 7'0 Charles Claxton who bagged 23 points while Lormont Sharpe and Richard Scantlebury had 22 each.
Shawn Jamison on 24 and Yorick Williams on 22 back up the Bullets admirably and they remain one win clear in the Southern table.
